East North Avenue Improvement Project Open House set for September 4

By - Aug 29th, 2024 08:36 am

Alderperson Jonathan Brostoff is inviting area residents and stakeholders to attend the upcoming open house for the East North Avenue Improvement Project. The open house will take place on Wednesday, September 4 from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. at East Library, 2320 N. Cramer Street.

The City of Milwaukee, in partnership with the East Side Business Improvement District, is working to make the East North Avenue corridor safer and more enjoyable for all users. In the fall of 2024, the City will be repaving North Avenue from North Humboldt Boulevard to North Prospect Avenue.  In addition to new asphalt and lane restriping, sidewalk curb ramps will be made ADA-compliant, concrete barriers will be added for permanent bike lane protection, and bus boarding islands will be installed to make transit more efficient in the corridor. The open house is a chance for those interested to learn more about the project plans and construction schedule.

“I’m excited by the changes coming soon to East North Avenue that will make this thoroughfare safer and more accessible for motorists, pedestrians, cyclists and all users as we continue to reimagine our streets to become less car-centric,” said Alderperson Brostoff. “I would encourage all those interested to stop by the upcoming open house to learn more about the project.”
