Senator Baldwin Helps Secure Funding to Improve Public Safety in Southeastern Wisconsin
Funding will strengthen crime prevention, reduce recidivism, and support victims
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) announced that Wisconsin has secured funding to strengthen crime prevention efforts, invest in community resources to reduce recidivism, and assist victims. Southeastern Wisconsin will receive over $6.5 million from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs and the Office on Violence Against Women, funded by the Senator Baldwin-supported Fiscal Year 2023 government funding bill.
“These grants highlight the importance to public safety of the United States Department of Justice’s investments in criminal justice programs,” said Attorney General Josh Kaul. “From investing in Wisconsin’s anti-human trafficking task force to maintaining current, vital services at Wisconsin DOJ, these grants will help us protect the public and ensure that justice is done.”

- $218,995 through the Body-worn Camera Policy and Implementation Program to Support Law Enforcement Agencies
- $108,986 through the Prison Rape Elimination Act Reallocation Funds Program
