Rep. Goyke Statement on Joint Finance Committee Appointment
MADISON — Today, Assembly Democratic Leader Greta Neubauer announced Representative Evan Goyke, who is a candidate for City Attorney in Milwaukee, will step down from the Joint Committee on Finance (JFC), and Representative Deb Andraca will join the Committee to fill the vacancy created.
Rep. Goyke released the following statement:
“I am honored and deeply grateful to have had the opportunity to serve on the Joint Finance Committee for the past five years. Serving on JFC is a distinct privilege, and the gravity of the role was always front of mind for me.
I sought to bring passionate, heartfelt debate to the Committee, occasionally balanced out by some humor and levity. I want to thank my caucus members and leadership for trusting me to fight for a more just, transparent, and inclusive government. I hope I have been an effective advocate for your constituents in addition to the people of the 18th Assembly District.
I owe a great deal to the Legislative Fiscal Bureau Director, Bob Lang, and all of the LFB staff. Thank you for your dedication and patience. To the other members of the Committee, their staff, and of course my great staff, thank you for your hard work and for putting up with so many of my antics over the years.
Representative Andraca is ready for her new role and will bring her fierce advocacy to JFC. She continually demonstrates her tenacity, resolve, and quick wit, which will all serve her well in this role.”
