Employ Milwaukee Opens Office On Northwest Side
New satellite office, the first of others planned, is located within a church.
Job training organization Employ Milwaukee opened a satellite office on the city’s far Northwest Side on Tuesday.
The new office, co-located within a church, will augment the organization’s headquarters at 2347 N. 27th St. near W. North Ave.
The new office is located within Jericho Church Without Walls at 8086 N. 76th St.
“As a vehicle of change we are dedicated to eradicating poverty and strengthening families,” said Jericho pastor Anthony Burns. “We are grateful to partner with Employ Milwaukee to further help our community and neighborhood residents overcome the barriers they face and secure productive employment and much needed resources to remove the barriers that hinder growth.”
The church is located just north of W. Bradley Rd. and near a number of large industrial employers, including Douglas Dynamics and ETE REMAN.
Brown said more locations are planned. “We want to do our part to engage and equip as much community talent as possible to find fulfilling careers while also helping employers build their workforce,” said the nonprofit leader.
Previously known as the Milwaukee Area Workforce Investment Board and before that as the Private Industry Council, Employ Milwaukee is a federally-recognized workforce investment board serving Milwaukee County. The organization works with businesses, education providers and government entities to create targeted job-training programs.
