Bach Chamber Choir is Going Live
Seeks new singers as well as the return of existing members of the choir.
After 17 long months of virtual singing and two taped concerts with masked singers, Bach Chamber Choir is opening up for live rehearsals and unmasked singing. While we enjoyed meeting the challenge of keeping a choir together during COVID-19 times, we are so glad be able to offer a live choir experience again.
Under the direction of Jonathan Kim we will begin rehearsals in August at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish at 12700 W. Howard Ave. in New Berlin. Exact dates and times are still being worked out. Program planning is underway this summer.
We are seeking new singers as well as the return of existing members of the choir. Any new singer interested in singing music in the classical tradition – from Bach to Bernstein and beyond – is welcome to audition. Just contact bachchamberchoir@gmail.com. Or call our President David Wihowski at 414-587-1624 if you have questions about the choir. David will put you in touch with our director Jonathan Kim when Jonathan is ready to start auditions.
About Bach Chamber Choir
We are an ensemble ranging in size from 20-40 singers dedicated to keeping alive the classic choral tradition of music suitable for smaller groups. We have amateur, student and professional musicians. We have been a performing group in the Milwaukee area for 50 years.
Despite the name, we are not an “early music” group, nor is all our music from a religious tradition – although a great deal is. Our repertoire is much more varied. Please visit our YouTube Channel at “The Bach Chamber Choir & Orchestra of Milwaukee”. Or check us out on Facebook – again just type in “Bach chamber Choir Milwaukee”. You will find videos of our most recent performances, and more about the choir.
We look forward to meeting new members!
