Hesselbein Votes No to Republican Private Investigators
MADISON – Today, Speaker Robin Vos, Chair of the Committee on Assembly Organization, issued a paper ballot to members of the committee to approve or deny authorization to hire legal counsel and employ investigators. The ballot issued today is another Republican attempt to sow doubt about the 2020 presidential election.
“This is another wild abuse of power by the Republican Party leadership,” said Representative Dianne Hesselbein, a committee member. “Speaker Vos is a Donald Trump mimic, desperately trying to challenge the legitimacy of an election proven over and over again to be fair. Not only is this damaging to our democracy, it is a clear violation of public trust. It is clear my far-right Republican colleagues know no limits in their quest to subvert the will of the people. I hope they will remember their place on the wrong side of history.”Republican leadership frequently issues paper ballots in the committee, avoiding the opportunity for the public to comment on the matter. In addition to flouting government transparency, these ballots are often put forward to gain approval for the use of taxpayer money to fund private attorneys to take action on partisan political issues.
“We need to end the silliness and focus on Wisconsin issues. Republicans must stop propping up a sore loser’s fantasies, and get down to the business of governing. Wisconsin taxpayers will be the real losers—stuck with the bill for an absurd Republican private investigation.”

Let me get this right; all the fruitless and basis-free investigations of Trump by the Left were acceptable, but this isn’t? Sure seems like more of tge “look away, nothing to see here” narrative of the Left- not surprising at all…
