Walker’s Presidential Fund Files Final Report
Our American Revival spent $7.7 million on Scott Walker’s ill-fated run for president.
A group created to support former GOP Gov. Scott Walker’s short-lived 2016 presidential bid filed its final fundraising and spending report on Monday.
The group, Our American Revival, continued to raise money after Walker’s 10-week run for President ended in mid-2015 to pay bills. The latest report showed the group raised $30,000 and spent $58,265 between Jan. 1 and May 7.
Most of the spending, about $51,900, was for legal fees paid to Ashby Law in Alexandria, Va.
Our American Revival was a tax-exempt 527 group regulated by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service that could raise and spend unlimited amounts of cash from wealthy special interests.
Periodic fundraising and spending reports filed by the group with the IRS between early 2015 when it was created and ending this month showed that it raised a total of $7.8 million and spent more than $7.7 million.
Some of the group’s largest contributors were:
Richard and Elizabeth Uihlein, Lake Forest, Ill., founders of Uline Corp., $1.2 million,
Willis Johnson, Franklin, Tenn., retired founder of Copart, Inc., $500,000,
Access Industries, New York City, $350,000,
Michael and Mary Shannon, Denver, Colo., president of KSL Capital Partners/ Homemaker, $250,000,
Jeanne Sinquefield, Westphalia, Mo., founder of the Sinquefield Charitable Foundation, $250,000.

“We are in a war for the soul of our nation”, so says the webpage of the “Young Americas Foundation”, of which Scott Walker is now president. (From Wikipedia, “Young America’s Foundation (YAF) is a conservative youth organization, founded in 1969, whose stated mission is “ensuring that increasing numbers of young Americans understand and are inspired by the ideas of individual freedom, a strong national defense, free enterprise, and traditional values”.
Past presidents of YAF have earned an annual salary of over a million dollars, so Walker, after serving the interests of the wealthy is now being served quite handsomely. Way to pull yourself up by your own boot straps! And regarding the “we are in a war for the soul of our nation” declaration on the YAF webpage, wouldn’t it be nice if the Democratic Party acted like they realized they where in a fight with the other party? Are you listening Joe “I’m ready to compromise” Biden?
With that kind of cash you’d think he’d at least get implants for that big scar on his head where he was hit by a cabinet door.
