Small restaurants need your support to make it through the pandemic.

And you need to eat.

So why not fulfill both needs by ordering food at one of Milwaukee’s locally owned eateries?

At the start of the pandemic, many restaurants struggled to survive. The stay-at-home order meant that restaurants were restricted to pickup and delivery options. A year later, restaurants can now offer dine-in services as long as they continue with mask mandates and social distancing measures.

Below is a list of eateries located on Milwaukee’s North Side.

Pete’s Pops – pickup and delivery

Pete’s Pops, 3808 W. Vliet St., is open from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Customers can order a pack of 10 popsicles for delivery or pickup. To place an order, individuals can click here send a Facebook message.

Daddy’s Soul Food & Grille – pickup, delivery and dine in

Daddy’s Soul Food & Grille, 754 N. 27th St., is open for business. Dine-in service is offered from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. For pickup, you can place an order online or call (414) 448-6165. Go to the restaurant’s Facebook page to see the specials of the day. Orders for carry-out can be placed ahead of time.

Mr. Perkins – pickup

Mr. Perkins, 2001 W. Atkinson Ave., is open for carry-out. To see the menu and its hours, visit the restaurant’s Facebook page. To place an order, call (414) 447-6660. The restaurant is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.

Speed Queen Bar-B-Q – drive-through

Speed Queen Bar-B-Q, 1130 W. Walnut St., is open for drive-through. While the wait time varies, customers can still enjoy the restaurant’s dinners, sandwiches, fish fries and more. Speed Queen Bar-B-Q is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday.

Ashley’s Bar-B-Que – pickup and delivery (Grubhub)

Ashley’s Bar-B-Que, 1501 W. Center St., is available for pickup and delivery. Visit the restaurant’s Facebook page to see what Ashley’s Bar-B-Que is cooking up. To place an order call (414)-372-7666. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Mr. Dye’s Pies – pickup and delivery

Mr. Dye’s Pies, 8103 W. Tower Ave., is making pies available for pickup or delivery. To place an order, call (414) 759-4992. This week’s hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. For its updated hours and complete menu, go to Mr. Dye’s Pies’ Facebook page. You can also catch Mr. Dye’s Pies at local farmer’s markets.

Sauce & Spice MKE – pickup

Sauce & Spice, located inside the Sherman Phoenix, 3536 W. Fond du Lac Ave., is open. The restaurant offers freshly made pizzas and take-and-bakes. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. To place an order, call (414) 210-4478. Customers can pay over the phone or with Cash App, Venmo, PayPal or Apple Pay.

Rise & Grind Café – curbside pickup

Rise & Grind Café, 3536 W. Fond du Lac Ave., is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Terri Lynn’s Soul Food Express – takeout

Terri Lynn’s Soul Food Express, 10742 W. Hampton Ave., is open for to-go orders. To place an order, call (414) 464-1111. Soul Food Express is open from noon to 6 p.m. on Thursdays, noon to 8 p.m. on Fridays, noon to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and noon to 6:30 p.m. on Sundays.

Coffee Makes You Black – curbside pickup

Coffee Makes You Black, 2803 N. Teutonia Ave., is offering in-store pickup from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. To place an order for pickup, call (414) 562-5225.

SkyBox Sports Bar – dine in, delivery and takeout

SkyBox Sports Bar, 2213 N. Martin Luther King Drive, is open from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday, from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday and from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday. Patrons can also place orders for delivery and pickup.

Tusk – curbside pickup and dine in

Tusk, 5513 W. North Ave., is open for dine-in services from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. It continues to offer carryout. To view Tusk’s menu, click here. To place an order, call (414) 763-2095.

Bougie Berries – in store

Bougie Berries, 7157 W. Burleigh Ave., is open for business. The dessert boutique is open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Call (414) 585-0234 if additional assistance is required.

Funky Fresh Spring Rolls – delivery and carryout

Funky Fresh Spring Rolls, 3536 W. Fond du Lac Ave., is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. Customers can also place an order online for pickup. Delivery is available for frozen roll orders made online.

Triciclo Perú – curbside pickup and dine in

Triciclo Perú, 3801 W. Vliet St., is open for dine in from 3:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. It continues to offer curbside pickup. City.Net Jazz Café – curbside pickup and dine in

City.Net Jazz Café, 306 E. Wisconsin Ave., is open for business from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday. The café continues to offer its daily specials and coffee drinks. To see what specials the café is offering that day go to its Facebook page.
