Many South Side Seniors Now Eligible for Vaccination at Kosciuszko Community Center

MILWAUKEE – County Supervisor Sylvia Ortiz-Velez wants residents of Milwaukee’s South Side to know that Milwaukee County recently launched a ZIP Code Vaccination Program, which provides free COVID-19 vaccines to individuals 65 years and older living in the 53204 and 53206 ZIP codes.
“Racial disparities related to vaccine distribution are well-documented, so I’m proud that Milwaukee County has launched this much-needed program specifically aimed at reaching communities that have been left behind,” said Supervisor Ortiz-Velez. “This vaccine is safe and trustworthy. I am encouraging everyone who is eligible to take the vaccine so we can get back to our Wisconsin way of life.”
Vaccines will be administered at Kosciuszko Community Center, 2201 S. 7th St., Milwaukee, WI 53215, by Milwaukee County’s Office of Emergency Management-EMS CORE Team.
Eligible individuals can sign up for a vaccination appointment at CovidMKE.com. Once an appointment time is confirmed, individuals are asked to arrive no more than 15 minutes ahead of scheduled appointment times. A confirmation number, which will be provided to registrants via email, is required to be vaccinated.
The ZIP Code Vaccination Program uses the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Social Vulnerability Index to ensure that individuals residing in the most underserved areas of the County have equitable access to the COVID-19 vaccine.
