Betty Brinn Children’s Museum Connect & Learn Grant for Schools Now Open
Elementary and middle schools in the Greater Milwaukee area are invited to apply for hands-on, virtual workshops.
MILWAUKEE, WI – (November 13, 2020) — The Betty Brinn Children’s Museum today announced the opening of its Connect & Learn grant for schools supported by Kohl’s. The program is designed to support area educators and students with distance learning through hands-on, virtual workshops. Public or nonprofit private schools located in the Greater Milwaukee area (Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, Washington and Ozaukee counties) with 501(c)(3) status are eligible to apply for a Connect & Learn grant.

Grant awardees will schedule their students to participate in their choice of creative and cultural online workshops using the Museum’s new Play in the Cloud platform, powered by technology partner GLOMADO. Students will join workshops in small groups and receive real-time instruction from a Betty Brinn Children’s Museum educator or an artisan from one of 50 countries. All workshops involve making and many come with kits containing the main workshop supplies.

The mission of Betty Brinn Children’s Museum (BBCM) is to inspire all children to wonder and explore their world through play and innovative, hands-on learning experiences. The Museum opened in 1995 and serves almost 200,000 visitors each year at its downtown Milwaukee location, which is temporarily closed. BBCM is dedicated to ensuring that all families have access to its interactive educational exhibits and programs designed to promote the social, emotional and intellectual growth of children from birth through age 10.
