Captain Pabst Pilot House Expands Outdoor Beer Garden
Outdoor Patio Doubles In Size by Expanding Onto Adjacent 11th Street
MILWAUKEE, Wis. (August 5, 2020) – The newly-rebranded Captain Pabst Pilot House (formerly the Pabst Milwaukee Brewery and Taproom) has doubled the size of its outdoor beer garden, from 3,000 sq. ft. to 6,000 sq. ft., by expanding onto 11th Street.
“We’re adding eight patio tables and umbrellas in the new space, while maintaining social distancing guidelines,” said Adam Powers, CPPH General Manager. “Captain Pabst Pilot House (CPPH) intends to continue operating outdoors-only through August and into September to best ensure the safety of our staff and guests.”
New business hours for Captain Pabst Pilot House, effective Aug. 5 are:
- Wednesday and Thursday: 4 – 10 p.m.
- Friday: 2 – 10 p.m.
- Saturday: Noon – 10 p.m.
- Sunday: Noon – 7 p.m.
The CPPH Great Lakes Kitchen will also be open on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from Noon to close to provide food to accompany the great brews available at the Pilot House.
“Our popular ‘Beer to-go’ option is still available as well,” said Powers. A variety of fresh Pabst micro brews can be ordered at 2k2go.com/captpabst. Pickup hours are Wednesday and Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 7 p.m.
The Pilot House is also bringing back many of its popular events outdoors, including:
- Swing Jazz Wednesday’s (free and open to the public), which will include a dance area on the extended patio.
- $2 Pint Nights on Thursday’s – Brewers and Bucks games will be playing when available
- Bottoms Up Acoustic Saturday’s, free live music from 2-5 p.m.
The Captain Pabst Pilot House is in a historic 148-year old building on the original Pabst complex – the former First German Methodist Church located on the corner of Juneau Avenue and 11th Street.
“This has been a challenging time for everyone, including the team here at the Captain Pabst Pilot House,” said Powers. “We are glad to have access to an expanded outdoor space to safely provide even more patrons access to fresh, locally-brewed beers and great food here in person.”
“We are taking many precautions to keep our customers safe, including: limited seating with six-foot spacing between tables, supplying staff with masks and hand sanitizer, offering single-use paper menus, putting all beer and food in plastic and to go containers, thoroughly cleaning tables between guests and sanitizing every evening,” said Powers.
