The Milwaukee Police Department has been actively working with our system partners, including the Milwaukee Health Department, to address any changes in our operation as it relates to the COVID-19 virus.

Recently a civilian member of the Milwaukee Police Department tested positive for COVID-19. This employee is under home quarantine and the people within this employee’s wark location are being monitored closely. This employee’s role within the Milwaukee Police Department does not involve any direct contact with the public therefore, there is no reason to believe that the public was placed at risk. Due to the recent virus pandemic, the Milwaukee Police Department modified daily operations for several services that are available to the public to minimize face-to-face contact which include the following:

  • The Forensics Division located at the Milwaukee Police Administration Building. 749 W. State Street, will be closed to the public effective immediately until further notice. This will impact the public’s availability to obtain fingerprinting services,
  • Milwaukee Police Department Open Records Section is dosed to the public, anyone requesting open records requests can do so online at mpdopenrecordsmilwaukee.gov. Delays should be expected for request being fulfilled.
  • The Milwaukee Police Department is asking the public to avoid visiting district locations necessary. Residents seeking information are encouraged to contact district locations by phone:
