Sherman Phoenix Hosts Twisted Fork Festival

Sherman Phoenix welcomed the Twisted Fork Vegan/Vegetarian Festival over the weekend.

The fest brought tastings of vegan and vegetarian food from the many vendors in the Sherman Phoenix space. Independent companies and artists also made an appearance in the space, such as Imperfect Produce, a company that sells boxes of perfectly fine produce that would have gone to waste for not meeting appearance standards of grocery stores. Guest speakers also came to speak about living a vegan lifestyle.

Sherman Phoenix, located at 3536 W. Fond Du Lac Ave., opened last December. The project turned a former BMO Harris Bank that was severely fire damaged during the August 2016 unrest in Sherman Park into a thriving food and shopping space. The Sherman Phoenix now boasts 28 different local businesses, including The Shindig, Purple Door Ice Cream, Funky Fresh Spring Rolls, Sauce & Spice, Queens Closet consignment shop, Embody Yoga and many more.
