Wisconsin Girl Scout Alliance Launches Days of Action Initiative
Girl Scouts, volunteers, community invited to support Troop #3055 through acts of service
Milwaukee, November 8, 2018 — Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast (GSWISE) have announced a collaboration with the Wisconsin Alliance, comprised of the four Girl Scout councils in Wisconsin, inviting Girl Scouts across the state to perform service projects through Days of Action during November. Days of Action will honor the Girl Scouts and volunteer from Troop #3055 of the Girl Scouts of Northwestern Great Lakes (GSNWGL) council who lost their lives while performing community service on Saturday, November 3. Girl Scout councils across the nation have also been invited to support Days of Action.
Days of Action encourages troops, individual Girl Scouts, supporters and the public to take action and perform a service project in their community, making the world a better place. Girl Scouts are invited to share their service projects and photos on the discussion tab on the Days of Action Facebook Event Page through November 21. In December, the Wisconsin Alliance will share posts and highlights with our GSNWGL sisters in show of our support.
“Our hearts are broken for the girls and families of Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes. At Girl Scouts, there is nothing we take more seriously than the safety of our members. The girls and volunteers involved were all living the Girl Scout mission and making their community a better place while following proper safety protocols. We invite our communities to join us and participate in the Wisconsin Alliance Days of Action initiative to honor our fallen Girl Scout sisters who lost their lives too early. Together, we can honor their legacy in lasting and meaningful ways,” said Christy Brown, Chief Executive Officer.
Other opportunities to show support include the following:
