Leah Calls On Baldwin To Tell NFL Players To Stand During The National Anthem

"She let down our veterans at the Tomah VA, and she has refused to encourage NFL players to stand during the national anthem."

Brookfield, Wis. – One year ago, while Vice President Mike Pence attended an NFL game, players decided to take a knee during the anthem. This Sunday, Leah Vukmir is calling Senator Tammy Baldwin to join her in telling all NFL players to stand during the national anthem.

“Tammy Baldwin’s disregard for America’s bravest is clear. She let down our veterans at the Tomah VA, and she has refused to encourage NFL players to stand during the national anthem,” said Leah Vukmir. “As a military mom, I believe everyone needs to stand for the anthem and that radical liberals like Baldwin need to speak up against those who disrespect our flag, our veterans and our country.”

As ESPN reports:

“Vice President Mike Pence says he left Sunday’s 49ers-Colts game at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis because of protesting that took place during the national anthem. For the second week in a row, the 49ers had more than 20 players kneeling during the national anthem with their hands over their hearts. Teammates stood behind the kneeling players with one hand on a kneeling teammate’s shoulder and the other over their hearts.”  (ESPN, 10/09/17)

Leah Vukmir is a nurse, military mom and proven leader who has cut taxes by $8 billion and helped Wisconsin hit record-low unemployment. She is running for the U.S. Senate to bring the Wisconsin Way to Washington.

  1. Thomas Martinsen says:

No disrespect for military veterans is intended when a player takes a knee during the national anthem. That gesture simply suggests that our United States as a nation are still short on forming a more perfect union – especially with respect to how people of color are treated in our criminal justice system. The Pence stunt at the 49’er’s game was cheap political theatre. Leah’s attempt to malign her opponent by piggy-backing on a cheap political stunt is just another sad episode in an ill-informed and ill-willed political campaign. Vote for Vukmir if you like sad cartoons,
