Scott Walker Silent on Tweets from Republican Party Mocking Sexual Assault
Walker continues to look the other way as Senate Republicans seek to elevate alleged sexual assaulter to nation's highest bench
MADISON — Scott Walker has been dodging questions all day after a tweet from the Milwaukee Republican Party caught criticism for crassly mocking and belittling sexual assault. The tweet was in response to allegations by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez, two women who have stepped forward and alleged that President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted them.
“When will Scott Walker stand up for survivors of sexual assault and condemn the GOP’s toxic and harmful rhetoric?” asked Martha Laning, chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. “The lack of leadership from Scott Walker is shameful. Survivors of sexual assault deserve our full support when they come forward, but Scott Walker would rather maintain political allies than take a stand for what’s right.”
