MILWAUKEE – Newly elected County Supervisor Sylvia Ortiz-Velez will join an advisory committee to the board of United Migrant Opportunity Services, also known as UMOS, this Saturday for a three-year term.
“UMOS provides a wide range of services to the most vulnerable and under-served people in our community, especially in the 12th district that I represent. I’m honored to have been selected to serve on the CSBG advisory committee to help advise the board and shape the direction of UMOS’s vital social programs,” said Ortiz-Velez.
The community services block grant advisory committee is made up of community members, stakeholders and elected officials, and provides the board with valuable perspective and recommendations on social service programming provided by UMOS.
