Rep. Neylon Issues Statement on Robotics Participation Grant Program
Robotics teams raised nearly half a million in private funds.
Madison – Today State Representative Adam Neylon (R-Pewaukee) issued the following statement in response to the success of 2015 Wisconsin Act 280, the Wisconsin Robotics League Participation Grant Program:
“The Robotics Participation Grant Program was even more successful than I had hoped. Robotics teams raised nearly half a million ($468,043) in private funds. The grant fund offered by the state received an incredible number of applications and paid a total of $250,000 to 125 teams. That’s nearly $720,000 going towards robotics teams in Wisconsin.
“This is an incredible success story not just for Wisconsin, but for the students participating in robotics, and the businesses that are looking to hire workers with the technical skill-set that comes from getting involved with a robotics team. As we work on the upcoming state budget I look forward to building on this success.”
