Youth Council to suggest allocations of more than $100,000 to youth programs

The allocation recommendations will be forwarded to the Common Council’s Community and Economic Development Committee.

The City of Milwaukee Youth Council is expected to make allocation recommendations on Monday (June 20) after hearing from agencies which have applied for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to be used for programs and projects benefiting city youths.

The allocation recommendations will be forwarded to the Common Council’s Community and Economic Development Committee and are expected to be made during Monday’s Youth Council meeting at 1:30 p.m. in the third floor Council Chamber at City Hall.

A total of $148,755 in CDGB funds is available to the Youth Council for allocation to youth services programs.

The meeting will be televised live by the City Channel via streaming video on the city website at www.city.milwaukee.gov/Channel25. It can also be viewed on Time Warner Cable and on AT&T U-Verse in the City of Milwaukee.
