Marquette University Symphony Orchestra Presents Senior Recognition Concert

April 24, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Free

The Marquette University Symphony Orchestra, lead by Music Director Robin Engl, will present their final concert for the 2015.16 season on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Varsity Theatre (1326 W. Wisconsin Ave. | Milwaukee, WI 53233). This performance is free and open to the public.

In the first half of the program, the symphony will feature Gershwin’s joyful and spontaneous Cuban Overture, as well as guest artist, Rick Aaron, on Georg Telemann’s Suite for Flute and Orchestra in A minor. A Milwaukee residential musician, Aaron has participated in a wide range of performances, from playing in pit orchestras for Broadway Shows at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts to performing in jazz clubs in downtown Milwaukee, and even serving as a substitute flutist for the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. He has studied flute with Eldridge Meyer, Sam Baron, John Burgess, and Israel Borouchoff.

Following the intermission, the MUSO will conclude their year with Ludwig van Beethoven’s famous Symphony No. 7, Op. 92; prior to which, the graduating seniors of the symphony will be recognized. So mark your calendars for what’s certain to be a truly unforgettable musical experience.
