Council will recognize state championship sports teams
These two state championship teams will be recognized for their teamwork and victories during the 2015 Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association state volleyball and soccer tournaments.
The Divine Savior Holy Angels High School Girls Volleyball Team and the Marquette University High School Boys Soccer Team will be honored during a special presentation at Tuesday’s (December 15, 2015) regular meeting of the Milwaukee Common Council.
Media coverage is invited for the meeting, which will begin at 9 a.m. in the third floor Council Chamber at City Hall, 200 E. Wells St. This is the last Common Council meeting of the year.
These two state championship teams will be recognized for their teamwork and victories during the 2015 Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) state volleyball and soccer tournaments. Divine Savior Holy Angels High School won the 2015 WIAA Division I State Girls Volleyball Championship for a second consecutive year, marking their sixth tournament appearance in a row. Marquette University High School won the 2015 WIAA Division I State Boys Soccer Championship, earning recognition for their outstanding 20-2 season record and for athlete Alec Phillipe’s award as all-area player of the year.
Tuesday’s meeting will be televised live on the City Channel (Channel 25 on Time Warner Cable in the City of Milwaukee), and on U-Verse Channel 99. Online viewing is available at milwaukee.gov/CityChannel.
