13th annual event offers resources for Latino families of students with special needs
Foro Latino set for Friday, November 6 at South Division High School
MILWAUKEE (November 6, 2015) – More than 25 community agencies will be on hand Friday to provide information, workshops and resources for families of students with special needs at the 13th annual Foro Latino.
The event, which is held in Spanish with English interpretation, is the only one of its kind in the state. Families have access to not only resources but also opportunities for families to meet others in similar circumstances.
Foro Latino is set for Friday, November 6, 2015 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Milwaukee Public Schools‘ South Division High School, 1515 W. Lapham Boulevard, Milwaukee 53204. MPS Superintendent Dr. Darienne Driver will share a bilingual message with attendees by video. Media are invited and welcome to attend this event.
Dinner and door prizes will be available as will activities for children. For more information or to register, call (414) 643-0022.
The event is a collaboration involving MPS along with Alianza Latino Aplicando Soluciones, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin’s Southeast Regional Center, Disability Rights Wisconsin, Milwaukee County and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
