Rep. Barca Statement on JFC Transportation Bonding

MADISON – Today Assembly Democratic Leader Peter Barca (D-Kenosha) released the following statement on the Joint Finance Committee’s approval of $350 million in transportation bonding:
“While I am glad this funding has been approved and will put thousands of people to work on road projects throughout Wisconsin, we could be putting thousands more to work and investing in even more Wisconsin communities if Republicans had made responsible budgeting decisions.
“Instead of making tough choices and exemplifying true leadership, Republicans are once again kicking a bigger can down a longer road. Assembly Democrats will continue to advocate for a serious, long-term solution to robustly fund our state’s transportation needs.”
