A new bar called Yacks on Richards may be opening in the previous location of Roth’s Inn at 3805 N. Richards St., in the Williamsburg Heights neighborhood, according to an alcohol license filed with the city.

Co-owners Tumara and Ramon Davis only applied for an alcohol license, but listed food service in their future plans for the bar on the application.

Tumara and Ramon Davis have never run this type of business before, according to the license application. Neither responded to a request for more information by the time of publication.

The 2,320-square-foot building was bought by the couple in 2017 from Sheba LLC for $90,000, according to the assessor’s office website. It is a two-story building with the bar on the first floor and apartments on the second floor.

The application details renovations including updates to the storm windows, paint and bricks. The bathrooms are also set to be updated to make them handicap accessible.

The proposed opening date on the application is July 1. Once open, Yacks on Richards will have hours from 12 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. The bar will be open to patrons 25 and above.
