Where do you work and what makes your role awesomesauce?

I work at Mortenson Construction as a marketing coordinator. My role is awesomesauce because of the fantastic group of people that work here! We are a fun and hardworking group. This year we were awarded a Bubbler Award from NEWaukee, honored as a Best Place to Work by the Milwaukee Business Journal, and named a Top Workplace by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. I always look forward to coming into work.

What is one word that you would use to describe Milwaukee?

Underrated.

What local restaurant is at the top of your list?

Bavette La Boucherie! Oh my god. The bread, the meats, the toppings, the sides. It’s all so good! Bavette is a butcher shop/restaurant with a menu that changes daily so you’ll never get bored eating there.

What is your favorite Milwaukee tradition?

Serving a beer with your Bloody Mary. Getting a chaser is something I definitely take for granted living in Milwaukee. I’m always bummed when I go out of state and they don’t serve one.

What’s your favorite hidden gem or secret fact about the city?

Not necessarily a hidden gem but a way to find hidden gems is during Doors Open Milwaukee. This two-day event in September allows the public to check out both public and private buildings throughout the Milwaukee area – and it’s free! The event opens the doors to around 150 buildings and many times you can go on a free guided tour. It’s a great way to learn about the history and culture of Milwaukee.

What do you think is going to be a game changer for the city in the year of 2016?

The construction of the Wisconsin Entertainment and Sports Center. The arena and surrounding buildings will help revitalize downtown Milwaukee and create long-lasting jobs and economic opportunity for our community. The area is already seeing development opportunities and I can’t wait to see what the future will look like. #BuildtheFuture

What is something that is missing form out community that you would love to see implemented?

More bike lanes! Milwaukee has such a great bike community I would love to see more people biking and feel safe while doing it. Especially with more Bublr Bikes stations popping up it makes sense.
