Statue of Lenin
Installed in 1988 in Slovakia (Czechoslovakia at the time), this bronze statue of Communist leader Vladimir Lenin was short lived and eventually tossed into a scrapyard (following the Velvet Revolution in 1989). A Seattle ex-pat bought the statue and brought it to Seattle, it was eventually installed in the Fremont neighborhood in 1995 (three blocks west of the troll). I assume the red hand (added by a vandal) is to represent the blood on Lenin's hands. Photo taken August 5th, 2014 by Jeramey Jannene. All Rights Reserved.
