Seattle Central Library
The Central Library branch of the Seattle Public Library opened in 2004. Located in downtown Seattle, the building was designed by Rem Koolhas and Joshua Prince-Ramus. The floors seemingly float within the structure, which adjusts in size to meet the use of each floor. The interior space, which includes an audotorium as well as a wide-open, but comfortable "Living Room" space for patrons to read and use technology seems well-suited to address whatever uses libraries may have over the next 100 years.
