Blush on Fashion Night Out in Milwaukee

Fashionistas and local boutiques teamed up on Sept. 6 for Fashion Night Out, an international fashion event held in over 500 cities. For the first time, Milwaukee participated in the event, with more than 20 boutiques and stores opening their doors after hours to indulge guests in treats, bubbly and special sales galore.

I had a fabulous time stopping in at my favorite stores and discovering new gems I had always wanted to visit. Here are some the highlights from the a few stores in the downtown and Third Ward area that participated in the exciting night.

Anthropologie on FNO in Milwaukee

Anthropologie is always full of whimsical and unique clothing and accessories, and the location in downtown Milwaukee is no exception. Anthropologie is one of my go-to stores, and it was nice to see it participate in a more local event. During Fashion Night Out, Anthropologie offered delicious treats and champagne, as well as a personal shopper on hand to help with styling and store questions. I loved getting to preview a few of their amazing fall pieces, especially their boho-chic sweaters and funky accessories.

Luci on FNO in Milwaukee

Luci, another fashion staple in downtown Milwaukee, celebrated Fashion Night Out in style with a live fashion show, fashion photographers, and lovely sales associates on hand to answer questions and share style tips. The store has a wide selection of unique and trendy pieces. I loved their selection of colorful tops, dresses, and fabulous jewelry–all available at affordable prices. Luci proved once again that studs and sequins are in this fall with a wide array of beautifully embellished chiffon and silk shirts.

Blush offered some variety to the night by showcasing their incredible selection of cosmetics, perfumes and lotions. Known as the premiere beauty boutique in downtown Milwaukee, their make-up work has been featured in “Martha Stewart Living” and “The Knot.” Besides keeping visitors looking their most beautiful with experienced make-up artists on hand, Blush offered glasses of champagne and a live DJ.

Boutique Larrieux

One of my favorite new discoveries during Fashion Night Out was Boutique Larrieux. The store offers a beautiful selection of contemporary designer clothes and accessories for plus size women. It’s often frustrating for full-figured women to find both flattering and trendy pieces, but Boutique Larrieux has done a wonderful job making beautiful clothes accessible for everyone. I especially loved their selection of sequined tops and stunning dresses for every occasion.

Lela in Milwaukee’s Third Ward

Lela is another boutique in the Third Ward specializing in trendy vintage pieces and hand-picked designer apparel. Many of the lines Lela carries are from upcoming designers around the country and are only available at Lela in the area. I loved the store’s eclectic mix of vintage chic pieces and their own t-shirts for Fashion Night Out. If you’re looking a unique vintage store in the area, Lela is your best bet for one of kind pieces.

Last but not least, Flirt was another wonderful shop I discovered while exploring Fashion Night Out. This contemporary boutique carries a variety of designer labels and pieces, all at a moderate price. One of my favorite parts of Flirt was the relaxed ambiance and helpful sales associates who were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about current trends.

Fashion Night Out Milwaukee was an incredible success thanks to the fabulous stores and hundreds who attended the event. Stay tuned for next year when Fashion Night Out returns to Milwaukee in September for an even bigger night of food, fun and fashion!
