Kevin McElroy, the co-owner of Robert Laurence Hair Studio in Shorewood, and has cut hair for actors at the Milwaukee Rep for 19 years and makes wigs for cancer patients and others with hair loss.

By working with Children’s Service Society of Wisconsin, Kevin and his partner Wayne have adopted two boys, ages one and two. This week, Kevin talks with me about adopting a child in a state that does not recognize his partnership as a marriage, and the slow but evident progress in LGBT rights.
