Love conquers 8
All lesbians and gays really want is equality. And mostly, they would like to just be normal, all-American married people - maybe even with a house, a yard, some kids and a dog. To most gays, a "boring" married life would mean people have finally stopped seeing them as different. And who wouldn't want that kind of excitement?

It occurred to me during the drive down to Champaign that more than any other band, the Pkids are the band of my 20s. I saw them for the first time in early 1995, when I was 20; the last time I saw them, we were opening the Champaign record release show for their No More Songs About Sleep and Fire album in 2004, the year I turned 30. But instead of honoring that sublime piece of synchronicity by turning around and driving straight back to Wisconsin, we pushed on.
May 30th, 2009 by DJ Hostettler‘Henry V’ realized with more than just imaginary forces
It is the final play from William Shakespeare's historical tetraology of British kings, and the most oft-quoted. This Quasi Productions performance of Henry V grew not only out of a collective desire to make a worthy theatrical presentation, but from a grim sense of incompletion.

An American flag from the year 1897 was found in the attic area of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. K-8 School at 3275 North Third Street. The flag, with some tears and other signs of wear was found after a recent fire, which was caused when lightning hit the steeple of the school. The flag has 45 stars, the number of states in the nation in 1897. The stripes representing the original thirteen colonies were disfigured and torn. The original structure of Dr. King, Jr. K-8 School, formerly known as Victor L. Berger School, was built in 1894. Old Glory has survived harsh Wisconsin winter weather conditions in the unused area of the building for 112 years. The school plans to have the flag restored for proper display. “We all feel fortunate and privileged to have discovered such an enduring symbol of our country’s history,” said Shiron Posley, principal of Dr. King, Jr. K-8 School. May 28th, 2009 by Dave ReidMiller Park vs Busch Stadium – Milwaukee vs St. Louis
After a recent weekend trip to take in three Milwaukee Brewers games in St. Louis versus the rival St. Louis Cardinals, I spent a significant time reflecting on the differences (and similarities) between the stadiums each team calls home. Miller Park is located 3.2 miles from Milwaukee City Hall, while Busch Stadium is located 1/5th (0.2) of a mile from the iconic Arch. Miller Park has the roof, Busch Stadium has the view. Busch Stadium has the proposed Ballpark Village, Miller Park has its own sales tax. Miller Park has gameday bus service, Busch Stadium is located on a light rail line. And least important for the sake of this analysis, they each have their namesake beer. With all of that considered, which stadium does more for the city?
