Jonathan Jackson, Executive Director of Milwaukee Film
In the event that you have been living in a foreign country for the past month and a half, we feel compelled to remind you that the Milwaukee Film Festival starts this Thursday, September 24 and runs through Sunday, October 4. MFF is the inaugural Festival of the local film programming and advocacy organization Milwaukee Film and marks the return of a major world film event since the well-chronicled collapse of Milwaukee International Film Festival, which did not host an event in 2008.
“People are really going to be surprised at what they find” at this year’s Festival, says Jonathan Jackson in this week’s interview with Mark Metcalf. “We’ve really reshaped the old model.”
Find out more about what’s new this year and listen in on a discussion about the value of film to the Milwaukee community and the difficulty of raising funds during tough economic times. Milwaukee Film has made a number of exciting announcements since this podcast was recorded, including a screening of Crimes and Misdemeanors featuring a Q&A talkback with Martin Landau, so we recommend you visit Milwaukee Film’s website to learn more.Listen now!
