Mason Street Grill Announces Hunter’s Harvest Wine Dinner
Five-course dinner will pair Lake County Steele Wines with a hearty feast from Executive Chef Angie Rondinelli
MILWAUKEE – Feb. 9, 2016 – Mason Street Grill, a member of the Marcus® Restaurant Group, will host a five-course hunter’s harvest wine dinner on Friday, February 26, 2016, pairing a variety of Steele Wines with a hunter’s dream game menu crafted by Executive Chef Angie Rondinelli.
Steele Wines is known for its minimalist winemaking style, sourcing high quality handpicked grapes and using only non-genetically modified organisms, natural fermentations and no extra additives.
The anticipated highlight of the meal is Steele Wine’s Writer’s Block Cabernet Franc 2012 paired with the third course. The Writer’s Block wines began as a small project from Steele Wines owner/winemaker Jed Steele and his son Quincy in 2002. These wines “invite you to take a sip, relax into the bucolic, wisdom-bound realms of Dionysus and to remember Demeter by reaping the harvest of whatever inspired message you find in the effects of this adventurously fermented experience.”
The menu of tender game paired with these unique wines is as follows:
- First Course: Maple Leaf Farms duck confit with raspberry and elderflower, frisee, red oak, citrus thyme vinaigrette, grana padano crouton, paired with Steele Cabernet Franc Rose
- Second Course: Wild mushroom and leek bisque with truffle honey-glazed quail breast, paired with Steele Cuvee Chardonnay
- Third Course: Charred venison flank steak, roasted candy striped beets, baby fennel, baby turnip, black currant and ginger demi, paired with Writer’s Block Cabernet Franc 2012
- Fourth Course: Wood-grilled wild boar chop, cherry wood smoked bacon, goat cheddar farro risotto, sweet onion and mushroom cream, paired with Steele Catfish Vineyard Zinfandel
- Fifth Course: Devil’s food truffle cake, paired with Out Kaste Red Blend
“Wine dinner attendees can expect a tastefully unique, delectable menu and completely hand-made, all-natural wines,” said Ryan Goldberg, general manager of Mason Street Grill. “With wines made from hand-picked grapes and a flavor-filled meal, a delicious pairing will be enjoyed by all.”
