Madison – Governor Scott Walker released the following statement today relating to President Obama and the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) final rule.

Yet again, President Obama is taking unilateral action and overstepping the limits of his authority to pursue a political agenda. The Obama Administration ignored the significant, overriding issues that will increase costs for Wisconsin ratepayers by up to $13 billion, unnecessarily harming families and killing manufacturing jobs.

We will examine the final plan in detail, but clearly Wisconsin’s extensive, constructive comments to the EPA have fallen on deaf ears in Washington.

Wisconsin has taken every opportunity to express that the Obama Administration is not only exceeding its authority by issuing the EPA’s final rule, but is pursuing the least efficient way to make environmental gains.

Today, I am asking the Attorney General to take immediate action to protect Wisconsin ratepayers and workers from the devastating impacts of the Obama Administration’s actions.

In addition, I am directing the Department of Natural Resources to work with the Public Service Commission to evaluate the financial impact of the final rule.

  1. Tony Muhammad says:

Far Right Wing republican conservatives like our Governor Scott Walker have mastered the art of “Double Talk.” They say one thing but mean something else which is usually hidden in their big money corporate supporters.

Its hard to believe a family man such as Scott Walker touts, would desire to leave his future posterity and our nation future generations polluted air and polluted waters.

Take for instance the country of China after 30 years of having no regards for its air and water quality its citizens living in major metropolis suffer some of the highest rates of asthma in the developed world. In some of its cities 10% of the population suffers.

Guess what Scott Walker the United State rates of asthma have been increasing since 1980 in our children. Why Scott Walker?

Its obvious to me Scott Walker extra air quality policies must be initiated to protect future generations of Americans so they will be free to breath without the use of prescription inhalers and breathing apparatus.

  2. Dave says:

Perhaps the cost to rate payers wouldn’t be so significant if our state and leaders of public utilities didn’t make some really dumb choices about 15 years ago or if the utilities would actually take responsibility for their decisions instead of passing one every single cent plus some to their customers.

Will complying with these new regulations not create jobs?

I’d also argue that the cost of unchecked climate change will be many many many times the cost of reducing our states carbon footprint but should we really expect a college dropout mental midget to grasp such concepts?
