The Moderne’s New Restaurant

Soon Carson’s Prime Steaks and Famous BBQ will be opening in the first floor of the luxury high-rise The Moderne.  It will be just the third Carson’s location, which currently has one in downtown Chicago and another in suburban Chicago.  The highly regarded restaurant signed a lease 20-year lease, apparently intending to be around awhile. Matt Rinka, Rinka Chung Architecture, designed The Moderne and the restaurant space.  Rinka Chung has designed multiple Milwaukee area restaurants including Café Benelux and Brick 3 Pizza.

The photos show the on-going build out of Carson’s Prime Steaks and Famous BBQ inside The Moderne.

….the third Carson’s location, which currently has one in downtown Chicago and another in suburban Chicago. The highly regarded restaurant…….

Highly regarded? By whom please. I realize that tastes are highly subjective and Carson’s may well prove popular but so is the Machine Shed and the Olive Garden, neither of whom are usually described as “highly regarded”. Carson’s uses barbecue sauce but they do not barbecue their ribs.
That said, I wish them good luck. Downtown is finally awakening and this should help draw folks in.

As someone who grew up in Chicago and lived there for part of my adult life, I have to say that Carson’s is one of Chicago’s best rib restaurants and will bea welcome addition the Milwaukee food scene. This is no Olive Garden….they may give Saz’s a run for their money!

This place is going to crush. Milwaukee does not know what will hit them.
