MILWAUKEE, WI (March 17, 2023) – WISN 12 will present a half-hour prime-time special “Commitment 2023: Candidates on the Record” on Wednesday, March 22nd at 7:00 p.m. The program features the candidates for Wisconsin’s Supreme Court seat, former Supreme Court Justice Daniel Kelly and Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Janet Protasiewicz.

The televised special is hosted by “WISN 12 News This Morning” anchor and “UPFRONT” co-host Gerron Jordan and WISN 12 News political director and “UPFRONT” co-host Matt Smith.  The “UPFRONT” co-hosts recently spent time with each candidate and conducted interviews recorded at Nō Studios, located in Milwaukee, WI.

“This election has significant nationwide interest,” says Jan Wade, president and general manager of WISN 12. “Wisconsin voters are looking for any key insights into these candidates in order to make informed choices at the polls.  Through this important special, which is part of WISN 12’s ongoing Commitment 2023 coverage, the candidates will take on the tough questions, go beyond the political ads, and provide viewers and voters the information they need at the ballot box.”

The general election on April 4th will determine the ideological balance of Wisconsin’s Supreme Court, where conservatives have had control since 2008. A number of critical issues could face the court in the coming years, including abortion access, voting rights and electoral maps. The race is the most expensive judicial election in United States’ history.

Along with being broadcast on WISN 12, the program will be offered all across Wisconsin to the “UPFRONT” partner stations, including stations WKOW, WAOW, WQOW, WBAY and WXOW. Please check local listings for complete schedules.
