WisDems Launch New Fundraising: Contribute Each Time Derrick Van Orden Tweets!
MADISON, Wis. — The Democratic Party of Wisconsin launched a new fundraising page today, asking supporters to chip in $1 every time WI-03 Congressman Derrick Van Orden tweets. Van Orden has created a reputation for himself by firing off excessive amounts of tweets daily. On just one day in July, Van Orden tweeted a total of 61 times — all while refusing to hold an in-person town hall.
“Voters think Derrick Van Orden is in hiding because he will only address them from behind the safety of a keyboard, so we’re giving them a new way to help get him out of office,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Philip Shulman. “While Derrick Van Orden spends his time trying to justify his vote to take health care and food security away from hundreds of thousands of Wisconsinites, we’re going to use these donations to do the work needed to defeat Van Orden in 2026.”Check out the donation page here.
Over the past two weeks, WisDems launched billboards in La Crosse and Eau Claire calling out Van Orden’s tweet supporting the disastrous Big Ugly Bill.
