WisDems Endorse Judge Chris Taylor For Wisconsin Supreme Court
MADISON, Wis. — Today, WisDems announced that they are endorsing Judge Chris Taylor for the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Judge Taylor’s commitment to protecting victims, ensuring access to health care for people in Wisconsin, and her record of being a fair and impartial judge are why the WisDems are ecstatic to back her candidacy. In endorsing Judge Taylor, WisDems Chair Devin Remiker released the following statement:
“Judge Chris Taylor has dedicated her career to protecting the rights and freedoms of all Wisconsinites and believes in protecting fair and impartial courts. That’s why we are proud to endorse her to be our next Wisconsin Supreme Court justice. As a respected attorney and public servant, and now as an experienced judge, WisDems is confident that Judge Taylor is the right choice for our state. Her victory is essential to keeping our courts fair and WisDems is fully committed to helping her win in April.”Judge Chris Taylor has had an impressive career, as an attorney, public servant, and now as a judge. She currently sits on the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, a position she was elected to by voters in 24 counties in 2023. Judge Taylor also previously served as the legal and policy director for Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin where she advocated for access to reproductive healthcare for all Wisconsinites.
With Justice Rebecca Bradley stepping down, right-wing politician Maria Lazar has announced her run for Wisconsin Supreme Court. Lazar has an extreme partisan record, as she has touted endorsements from election deniers, has worked to take away Wisconsinites’ voting rights, and defended the GOP’s gerrymandered state legislative maps. Lazar’s extreme views on reproductive health care also previously earned her the endorsement of the no-exceptions anti-abortion group Pro-Life Wisconsin. They only endorse candidates who agree with 100% of their platform, which includes banning fertility treatments and contraception.
