Wisconsin Help for Homeowners Program to Close Applications March 8, 2024
Evers Administration program helped over 8,600 families keep their homes across all 72 counties
Madison, Wis. – Secretary Blumenfeld today announced that the Wisconsin Help for Homeowners program (WHH), funded by the Homeowners Assistance Fund established under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, will close applications on March 8, 2024.
“No one should have to choose between paying their mortgage or their utilities and making sure food is on the table. Over the past few years, our Help for Homeowners program has assisted over 8,600 households across the state with staying in their homes and making ends meet,” said Gov. Evers. “This program has been a lifeline for folks, and with our continued work to expand affordable housing, we’re going to keep connecting the dots to solve the challenges facing our state and build the future we want for our kids, families, and workforce.”
“This successful program has allowed thousands of households to gain critical peace of mind during a very trying time, and we are proud of the impact it has made for Wisconsin families and communities,” said DOA Secretary Kathy Blumenfeld. “We are grateful for Gov. Evers’ unwavering support and the commitment of our statewide network of partners in helping Wisconsin residents keep their homes and ensure housing stability.”
The Wisconsin Help for Homeowners program is administered by the Wisconsin Department of Administration, in partnership with the Wisconsin Community Action Program Association (WISCAP) and Take Root Wisconsin. Applications are being accepted until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 8. Benefits will be paid to the extent that funding remains available, and financial assistance is not guaranteed.
