Wisconsin Democrats on Gov. Evers’ 2025 Budget Address
MADISON, Wis. — Following Gov. Evers’ 2025 Budget Address, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler issued the following statement:
“Gov. Evers declared 2025 the Year of the Kid, and tonight he announced a budget to make that vision a reality, with critical investments that will make sure every kid has a bright, healthy future here in Wisconsin. This pro-kid budget makes the largest investment in Wisconsin’s kids in any budget by any governor in state history, and it couldn’t come a moment too soon. With working families in need of relief from high costs imposed by Republican chaos in DC, this budget will make the investments in our kids we need while holding the line on property taxes and providing nearly $2 billion in tax relief to middle class and working families. The Governor’s budget also delivers on our shared obligation to ensure the water our kids drink is safe, with comprehensive investments to get PFAS, lead, and other contaminants out of our schools, homes, and watersheds. From investing in our public schools, to continuing to fix our roads, build affordable housing and lower costs, Gov. Evers’ budget does what’s right for our kids and their families.”
