Wisconsin Democrats on Election Denier Derrick Van Orden as the “Special Guest” at Election Integrity Training

MADISON, Wis. — January 6th insurrectionist Derrick Van Orden will be the Special Guest at Protect the Vote Wisconsin’s Election Integrity Training in La Crosse today. Derrick Van Orden is deeply committed to undermining democracy and feeding right-wing election conspiracies—he falsely claimed there was “a tremendous amount of voter fraud” in the 2020 presidential election and refuses to answer for his own actions in support of this lie. At a campaign stop in October 2022, Derrick Van Orden ignored several questions from reporters about his role in the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol to avoid answering for his record attacking democracy.

“Derrick Van Orden is dangerously incompetent—incapable of delivering the Farm Bill badly needed by Wisconsin’s farmers, he spends his time sowing extreme, far-right election lies and conspiracies from the halls of Congress. Van Orden stirs hate and division amongst Wisconsinites and then refuses to answer for his actions,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Communications Director Joe Oslund. “The people of Wisconsin’s 3rd District deserve better than election-denier Derrick Van Orden who chooses Trump over his country and crossed police lines on January 6th to watch his fellow Trump loyalists attack the U.S. Capitol building.”
