Wisconsin Democrats on Donald Trump Endorsing Derrick Van Orden

MADISON, Wis. — In response to Donald Trump endorsing Wisconsin’s most disappointing congressman for reelection, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Executive Director Sarah Abel released the following statement:

“Donald Trump’s early endorsement of Derrick Van Orden should be a red warning sign for the House GOP that their razor thin majority is in serious jeopardy. Even before he disgraced the halls of Congress, Derrick Van Orden has been a nonstop embarrassment for Wisconsin and the 3rd District—and Donald Trump’s destruction of our economy and attacks on our freedoms isn’t helping his case. Derrick Van Orden has spent two years drunkenly yelling at teenagers, berating government officials, and flinging childish insults all while voting to gut funding for Medicaid and failing to pass a Farm Bill. The endorsement of a historically unpopular president won’t be much help for Derrick as voters realize he’s truly terrible at his job.”
