‘WisBiz: The Show’ features Lena DeLaet of Summerfest Tech; recent and coming events

MADISON, Wis. – The latest episode of “WisBusiness.com: The Show,” features Lena DeLaet, director of sales for Summerfest Tech. DeLaet describes Summerfest and SummerFest Tech, talks about its history and its role in the Milwaukee region. The Show also reviews recent Tech Council events and previews others.
Recent events were:

·         May 9, Wauwatosa: Female founders – past BPC winners today.  The UW-Milwaukee Innovation Accelerator was the site for a conversation with Katie Jinkins, Laura King and Janet Phillips, past grand prize winners in the Governor’s Business Plan Contest.
·         May 21, Madison: Emerging firms present to investors, experts.  Acepsis, COnovate, Flux VII and Food FiXr pitched their innovations in agriculture, energy and personal health. Thanks to reactors Jeff Ebel of Midwest Wealth Ventures, Adhira Sunkara of WiSys and Karen Frost of The Water Council.
·         May 23, Eau Claire: Rural Health Innovation Alliance. The Tech Council visited UW-Eau Claire for the launch The Rural Health Innovation Alliance, which aims to transform the Chippewa Valley into a rural health care “epicenter” through establishment of testbeds, microsites and other ways to reduce barriers to innovation. Panelists were Ken Bahk and Kate Merton of Chicago ARC and UW-Eau Claire Chancellor Jim Schmidt.
 Upcoming events are:
·         June 5-6, Milwaukee: Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Conference. A reception follows presentations by finalists in the Governor’s Business Plan Contest in the afternoon of June 5.  Keynote speaker, Maneesh Arora, founder of Elephas, will talk about his experiences the morning of June 6. Panel discussions will be held throughout the day and BPC winners will be announced late afternoon, “Seize the Day” award winner Dr. Valerie Daniels-Carter will close the conference. All sessions at the Italian Community Center, 631 E. Chicago St.
·         July 31, Tech Council Golf Outing, The Oaks in Cottage Grove $150 per person; $550 foursome; $50 reception only;  www.wisconsintechnologycouncil.com/2024-tech-council-golf-outing
