Will Shady Schimel Disavow Gableman Support?

By - Feb 3rd, 2025 03:16 pm

MADISON, Wis. – Disgraced election conspiracy theorist and former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Michael Gableman is throwing his support behind extreme politician Brad Schimel in the race for Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Gableman appeared at a recent event to support Schimel where he spoke on the topic of the “importance of the Wisconsin Supreme Court Election—Brad Schimel for Supreme Court.” The invitation added, “Justice Gableman will be advocating for electing Brad Schimel to the Wisconsin Supreme Court in the April 1, 2025 election.”

In case you’ve forgotten, Michael Gableman was hired as “special counsel” by Robin Vos to lead a sham and discredited “audit” of the 2020 presidential election. Gableman’s circus cost the state millions in taxpayer dollars. Even Robin Vos — the man who hired Gableman — has now referred to him as an “embarrassment to the state.” Vos even said, “I certainly hope Michael Gableman loses his law license. I hope he goes back to work at Home Depot, where he was working prior to working for us.”

Schimel has previously defended violent criminals who, fueled by election conspiracies, attacked police officers at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th in an attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

In response, campaign spokesman Derrick Honeyman released the following statement:

“Brad Schimel will take support from anyone. Whether it’s literally begging special interests to invest in his race or embracing support from far-right groups who are working to strip rights and freedoms away from Wisconsinites, he’ll accept help wherever he can find it. That’s why it’s not surprising that Brad Schimel is relying on a disgraced conspiracy theorist like Michael Gableman, who wasted over a million taxpayer dollars on a phony investigation to try to undermine faith in our elections. Will Brad Schimel follow Robin Vos’ lead and disavow Gableman and his support?”
