WI WFP responds to Sen. Johnson delaying relief to working families

By - Mar 4th, 2021 07:09 pm

In response to Sen. Ron Johnson forcing a reading of the 628-page Senate COVID-19 relief bill and delaying a final vote on aid to families and communities, Wisconsin Working Families Party Campaigns Director Aaron Shapiro said,

“Sen. Ron Johnson is standing squarely between working people and the stimulus checks we need to survive. As COVID-19 continues to devastate our communities and our bank accounts, Sen. Johnson’s newest antic is a media stunt that inflates his own ego at the expense of the rest of us. Over ten million people in the US are out of work, and over 500,000 have died, and we can’t let Johnson — a conspiracy theorist who sides with armed insurrectionists over our states working families — pull the plug on the relief we need. It’s time for Wisconsin to reject Johnson, and move one step closer toward a livable present and a just future.”
