WHEDA Opens Application Period for Competitive Loan Programs

Developers, local governments invited to apply for Infrastructure Access, Restore Main Street, and Vacancy-to-Vitality funding

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) announced today the opening of applications for the latest round of funding from the Infrastructure Access, Restore Main Street, and Vacancy-to-Vitality competitive loan programs. All three programs were developed from the historic state funding signed into law by Gov. Evers in 2023 and funded by $525 million in the biennial budget, the largest investment in housing in state history.

Developers and governmental units are invited to apply for all funding opportunities by the deadline on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. CDT. To start an application, interested parties must complete a Procorem WorkCenter Request Form for each project and resource on WHEDA’s website and submit it to WHEDA following the instructions provided. For example, if funding is requested for a project in Dane County and another in Brown County, two WorkCenter request forms are required. If the project seeks Infrastructure Access and Vacancy-to-Vitality funding in both Dane County and Brown County, four WorkCenter requests are required.

WHEDA will accept and review Procorem WorkCenter Request Forms starting April 16, 2025. More information about each program is available on WHEDA’s website.
