MILWAUKEE — Wellpoint Care Network, a community-facing human services organization based in Milwaukee, is honored to host a private screening of the movie “Can We Make a Home in Milwaukee?” on Monday, September 9 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in our Training Center (8901 W. Capitol Drive, Milwaukee). Admission and parking are free.

Produced in Milwaukee, this movie features the intimate personal stories of immigrants and refugees who’ve settled here from Tanzania, Afghanistan, Northern Ireland, Myanmar (Burma), Ukraine, Laos and Pakistan. Did they achieve the American Dream? Or create an American nightmare? This movie answers those questions and more.

A panel discussion led by the movie’s producer and director Dr. Fran Kaplan from Nurturing Diversity Partners will be held following the movie screening.

“The topic of immigration in these times is so relevant to people’s understanding of our world,” said Ann Leinfelder Grove, President and CEO at Wellpoint Care Network. “We’re excited to invite and engage the community and open our space for this important dialogue.”

Space for the screening is limited. Wellpoint Care Network requests that those wishing to attend pre-register here.

Popcorn and beverages (water, soda, coffee and tea) will be served.
