Weekend of family-friendly events in the Garden District
Alderman Scott Spiker is encouraging area residents to participate in this weekend’s activities hosted by the Garden District Neighborhood Association to help kick-off fall. On Friday, September 13 at approximately 7:30 p.m., there will be a free movie screening in the Garden District Community Space at 6th and Howard. This year’s screening will be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, rated PG and suitable for all ages.
The following day, Saturday, September 14, the annual Garden District Fall Rummage Sale will commence at 9 a.m. and will continue until 3 p.m. The sale will feature more than two dozen vendors, and there will be a wide variety of goods for sale. The rummage sale will also take place at 6th and Howard.“I welcome residents to attend this weekend’s events and enjoy all the Garden District has to offer for attendees of all ages,” said Alderman Spiker. “As the alderman for the district, I’m hoping residents are able to connect with their community as a whole by enjoying themselves at these family-friendly events.”
