Wangard Partners, Inc. (Wangard) announced that it has finalized a lease with Zoup!, who will locate within the much anticipated Avenir Apartments mixed-use development located on the Lower East Side at 1437 N. Jefferson Street.

Founded in 1997, Zoup! opened their first restaurant in Southfield, MI. With more than 70 locations in 15 states and Canada, this is Zoup!’s first Wisconsin-based location. Zoup! features hundreds of award-winning soup recipes with 12 rotating daily varieties along with made-to-order salads and sandwiches. Zoup! will lease 2,230 RSF of space within retail units five and six within the ground level of Avenir Apartments and plans to open April 1st, 2015.

I’m excited to bring Zoup! to the Milwaukee market and to be a part of the Avenir development. This location gives us the opportunity to extend our product and service to a growing community that includes downtown business, MSOE, retail, and residential consumers,” said David Thiele, franchise owner.

The retail component for Avenir Apartments is now 100% leased, which is well ahead of schedule. Joining Zoup! is Great Clips (already open), eliteNutrition (to open mid-February), Jimmy John’s (to open in March) and JK Nails (to open in March).

Avenir Apartments is comprised of 104 market-rate apartment homes and 7,045 SF of ground level retail space. A two-level parking structure will accommodate the public and retail users while resident only parking is located below the building. Avenir Apartments will officially open within the next few weeks.
