Volunteers sought for multiple events during Hip-Hop Week MKE 2023

Alderman Khalif J. Rainey announced today that he is looking for individuals willing to volunteer during the upcoming Hip-Hop Week MKE 2023, which will run from August 21-27.

Alderman Rainey, founder of Hip-Hop Week MKE, said he has numerous open volunteer spots that will be vital to making sure the multiple events during Hip-Hop Week are successful.

“Volunteers can mean the difference between a ‘good’ event and an ‘amazing’ one,” Alderman Rainey said. “I urge anyone interested in helping make Hip-Hop Week MKE 2023 a truly amazing run of events to please contact me as soon as possible to get signed up.”

Global entrepreneur and music executive Damon Dash will host an entrepreneurship/financial literacy talkback event entitled “A Conversation with Dame Dash: Betting on Yourself, Building Generational Wealth,” on Friday, August 25 as part of Hip-Hop Week. The FREE event with Mr. Dash will be held at the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra’s Bradley Symphony Center, 212 W. Wisconsin Ave. Doors will open at 5 p.m. (featuring entertainment by DJ NuStylez) with the talkback event starting at 6 p.m. The free event tickets can be secured here (NOTE: Only persons with tickets will be admitted to the venue).

Reggie “Smooth Az Butta” Brown of V100.7-FM will host the Damon Dash event (sponsored by Associated Bank), which will be moderated by developer Kevin Newell, founder and CEO of Royal Capital Group.

Rappers Boldy James and Stove God Cooks will be opening for Jadakiss, the headline act for Hip-Hop Week 2023.
