UWM Adds New Engineering Professional Development Opportunities

MILWAUKEE, WI, Sept 22, 2025 — The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s School of Continuing Education is expanding its engineering offerings with the launch of a new engineering leadership certificate and a robust lineup of Six Sigma certification programs plus 15 new courses. These additions are designed to help professionals across engineering disciplines stay competitive in an evolving industry landscape.

As new technologies, workforce expectations and environmental challenges continue to shape the field of engineering, continuous upskilling is essential. UWM’s expert-led, career-focused programs offer practical training in areas such as electric power, mechanical engineering, plastics and rubber, facility management, manufacturing and Six Sigma.

Six Sigma Certification Opportunities

UWM is introducing a comprehensive lineup of Six Sigma certifications for professionals looking to elevate their skills and advance their careers. This updated certification pathway includes multi-day courses followed by capstone final projects.

Available certifications include:

  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification – Manufacturing
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification – Services and Transactions
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification – Manufacturing
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification – Services and Transactions
  • Master Black Belt Certification

Earning a Six Sigma certification demonstrates a commitment to data-driven decision-making, process improvement and leadership development, all of which can lead to career advancement and higher earning potential.

New Engineering Leadership Certificate

Designed for engineers ready to take the next step into leadership, the Engineering Leadership Certificate consists of six core courses and a capstone project demonstrating learned skills.
